Hispanicize Media Group (HMG) today announced that Hispanicize L.A., its national two-day Hispanic Heritage Month edition, will focus on the industries of diversity tech, content creators, and entertainment. The event will take place Oct. 3 and 4.

Hispanicize L.A. (#Hispz17) will be a powerful Fall season counterpart to the April Hispanicize event that takes place in Miami.

“Hispanicize L.A. will be the catalyst platform for real and measurable changes that will move our Latino community forward in the arenas of tech, entertainment, and digital content creation,” said Manny Ruiz, CEO of the HMG brand that owns the Hispanicize events. “The five-month runway we have to execute Hispanicize L.A. in the world capital of these industries that severely underrepresent Hispanics means we can harness many partners, brands and media organizations to make an impactful national program. We’re gonna make L.A. proud.”

Presented in part by Prudential Financial, a flagship brand partner of all Hispanicize, the L.A. event will feature a powerhouse of national speakers who will empower and engage their three respective industries.

“Los Angeles is one of the most important cities in the world for the entertainment industries and we want to bring a platform for Latinos in this industry to convene and collaborate,” said Katherine Johnson-Gunn, Sr. Vice President & Co-Founder of Hispanicize Media Group. “Our 2016 event was a success and expanding to two days is a response to the overwhelming feedback we received for more content.”

Below is a description of the three industry showcases that form the core of Hispanicize L.A:

Digital Creators Showcase: Led by HMG’s DiMe Media team, the Digital Creators Showcase will connect brands with influencers through a variety of dedicated sessions, workshops and sponsor activations that will take place throughout the entire event.

Diversity Tech Showcase: The Diversity Tech showcase will be co-presented in partnership with the San Francisco-based Latino Startup Alliance and will feature keynotes, entrepreneur workshops, a hackathon and Office Hours, among other activities.

Entertainment Industry Showcase: Curated by Hispanicize Pictures, The Hispanicize Music Board, and the Latino Filmmakers Network, this showcase will focus on Latinos in Hollywood, including actors, producers, directors and writers, and Latinos in the music industry, musicians, label executives, concert promoters, DJs, and producers.
